Slavis Lew Poczebutas joined OMA in 2011 as project director to lead the design and management of various large scale projects such as the New Hamad International Airport City development and Media Masterplan in Qatar. Now he is a leader of the project of New Media Campus for Axel Springer in Berlin. Before joining OMA, he worked as a project architect and urban designer in the international multidisciplinary design firm Arup in London and Hong Kong working with some brilliant minds in their disciplines and managing a range of cross disciplinary and integrated urban development projects and eco cities globally. Mr. Poczebutas has in depth experience in the design of buildings and the urban spaces in between. His focus lies in environmental sustainability in the fields of architecture and urban design and he supervised projects such as Wanzhuang Eco-City of Agriculture in Beijing, the Integrated Development Strategy for Ninh Thuan Province in Vietnam or was advisor to the Asian Cities Climate Change Resilience Network funded by the Rockefeller foundation. His expertise is in strategic integrated design and wider system planning with a core interest in sustainable and ecological urbanisation, resource efficiency, urban resilience and regeneration, communities, cities and culture. Mr. Poczebutas holds a degree in architecture from the School of Architecture at the University of Technology Berlin and London Metropolitan University. He is a visiting critic at various universities and speaks regularly at both academic and professional forums.
